Maysville, Kentucky sits on the banks of the Ohio River about 63 miles southeast of Cincinnati. Maysville is the 40th largest city in Kentucky with a population of around 9,000 residents. Maysville’s labor market is substantially higher at 200,000, serving as a major retail and employment hub for surrounding counties.
Homes in Maysville offer a wide array of options. There are newer subdivisions and golf course communities, local farm communities and historic row houses and bungalows.
Maysville holds a prominent place in Kentucky’s history and the early European-American settlement of the United States. U.S. Route 68 from Maysville to Lexington was originally a buffalo trace created by buffalo searching for the salt licks of Kentucky. This path was then used by a variety of indigenous people and eventually American frontiersmen Simon Kenton and Daniel Boone who helped found and establish the area that would eventually become known as Maysville.
Transportation
Maysville offers access to Ohio and U.S. Route 52 via two different bridges. The City Transit Bus runs seven days a week. There is also an Amtrak station in Maysville that is a stop on Amtrak’s Cardinal route from Chicago to New York.

The Meadowview Regional Medical Center is located in Maysville just off Route 9. Meadowview is a modern healthcare facility offering a full gamut of medical services.
Shopping
There is every type of shopping in and around the city of Maysville. From national retailers and restaurants on U.S. 68 and AA Highway to independent shops and boutiques in the two historic districts, Maysville has it all.
Recreation
Outdoor recreational activities such as boating, fishing and camping can be enjoyed at Maysville River Park. Maysville-Mason County Recreation Park offers golf and swimming. Golf enthusiasts can also play a round at Laurel Oaks Golf Course, Kenton Station Golf Course and Maysville Country Club. Enjoy a hike at Cummins Nature Preserve or nearby Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park. The historic Russell Theatre still offers screenings of old movies on their projection screen. The community hosts many festivals throughout the year.
