Transportation
Troy is north of the I-70 and I-75 highway exchange with short commutes to Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis and Cincinnati. Three international airports are within a 90-minute drive.
Hospitals
The Kettering Health Network – Troy Hospital is located on West Main Street with 150,000 square feet and 28 hospital beds, the facility services emergency service, ICU, and specialist care. The Upper Valley Medical Center also services the community and is the largest health system in SW Ohio offering a wide range of care including emergency, heart, cancer, behavioral health, long-term care, and more.
Shopping
There are many local and independent shops located in Troy. A Walmart is available in the area. Residents can head 20 miles south into Dayton for more shopping opportunities.
Recreation
Hobart Arena hosts sporting events, trade shows and conferences, and features an ice rink. The Arbogast Performing Arts Center features performing and visual arts with concerts, comedians and other performances. The Lincoln Community Center had an indoor pool, basketball court, weight room and art center.
Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is a former Tudor-style mansion and serves the community with art classes, speakers, music and art programs and season special events.
The city hosts many special events throughout the year. The Strawberry Festival is held in June, a July 4th Celebration is held annually; The Tour de Donut happens in August. A Hometown Halloween occurs in October. The Grand Illumination Tree Lighting is scheduled in late November. The Festival of Nations feature a different country each year with food, dance, music and art. There are many concerts held on Main Street during warmer months.

Golf? Miami Shores golf course is open to the public and has 18 holes to play. Troy Country Club and Gold Course is a private place to play the game. Schroeder Tennis Center offers tennis year-round. The Troy Memorial Stadium seats 10,510 people and hosts football games and concerts. Troy Community Center has a fitness center and banquet center. The indoor aquatics area has a therapy pool, lap lanes, slides and water toy area. A skate park and walking paths complete this facility. The Miami County YMCA features swimming, exercise room, basketball court, and classes for all ages.
There are a total of 27 city-owned parks with 365 acres. The Brukner Nature Center has 235 acres of preserved woodlands and trails. Treasure Island Park overlooks the Great Miami River and has a lighthouse and band shell. Miami County Parks feature scenic places to explore including the Charleston Falls Preserve with its beautiful waterfall. The Buckeye Trail winds around Ohio from Lake Erie following along the perimeter of the state and heads through Troy. The trail is close to the Great Miami River and is the same path that Shawnee and Miami Indians used when heading to Kentucky hunting grounds. Bikers enjoy this river trail with plenty of stops at parks, canal towpaths, and historic sites.
